Job summary/Role description

  • Report to the HSM or, while he / she is the TCM HSE representative at site, and reports to the Site Manager.
  • Verifies and ensures that all field activities are performed according to the TCM HSE policy, the regulations, standards and procedures, promoting all preventive and corrective action as required.

 

 

 

Duties and responsibilities

  • Primary authority for overseeing and coordinating all electrical inspection activities on the project and site ensuring compliance with electrical standards, safety regulations, and project specifications.
  • Inspection Oversight of all temporary facilities.
  • Performs and/or supervise inspections of electrical installations: cable trays, wiring, panels, switchgear, grounding systems, lighting, and motor controls. Serves as the primary technical contact for all electrical inspection matters.
  • Verify conformance to standards such as NEC, IEC, IEEE, and project-specific requirements.
  • Technical Leadership guiding all subcontractors on electrical facilities safe installations prior to usage and utilizations.
  • Advises construction teams on electrical issues and compliance.
  • Reviews RFI requests and approvals.
  • Monitor installation safety and quality, all testing, continuity checks, meggering, RCCB testing, and checks.
  • Ensures proper documentation of all electrical facilities inspections, punch lists, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and corrective actions requirements.
  • Maintains up-to-date inspection records for turnover purposes whenever required.
  • Coordinate with construction teams both for TCM and subcontractors for multi-disciplinary activities requiring electrical connections and supplies.
  • Interfaces third-party inspectors if required.
  • Supports lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and arc flash hazard assessments.
  • Participates in pre-commissioning and commissioning inspections including energization readiness checks for temporary facilities electrical rooms and switchgears, building offices, and accommodations camps.
  • Confirm functionality and safety of electrical systems prior to utilization for the project.
  • Inspection of Electrical Installations and ensure compliance with electrical safety standards.
  • Inspections of all electrical tools and appliances.
  • Examines electrical systems in plant.
  • Ensures compliance with ADNOC electrical codes and standard requirements.
  • Interprets and enforce electrical codes, regulations, and standards.
  • Ensures that electrical work meets safety and performance requirements.
  • Reviews electrical plans and permit applications.
  • Verifies that the proposed work is code-compliant before approval.
  • Testing and Evaluation:
  • Conducts functional and safety tests on electrical components and systems (RCCB/ELCB).
  • Earth resistance megger testing to ensure the megger value is less than 4ohms.
  • Uses testing equipment to detect faults or non-compliance.
  • Reporting and Documentation:
  • Prepares detailed inspection reports, noting violations and corrective actions needed.
  • Maintains records of inspections and approvals.
  • Stop work orders in case of serious non-compliance or danger.

Person Specification

Knowledge & Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in any Engineering Course.

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience.
  • Relevant experience in 3 major EPC projects; oil & gas, petrochemical sector.
  • Holding a NEBOSH GC/IGC certificate is an advantage.
  • Diploma in safety or any other HSE Certification (considered at ADNOC Group discretion).
  • ADNOC approval will be added advantage.
